“And I will put enmity, hostility, rivalry, opposition

Between you and the woman

And between your seed and her seed

He shall bruise your head

And you shall bruise his heel”

This was a promise

God is not a man that he should lie

This promise is the constant beat of the Christmas heart

Believer or not

Understood or not

You feel the Christmas beat

The beat of hope

It’s why you can’t help but to be happy on Christmas day

Because unknowingly your soul rejoices

At the arrival of hope

Grace

Because a Child is born

Rejoice for the Savoir is born

Rejoice for peace has come

Rejoice for God is with us

Rejoice for the Lord is salvation

Jesus

Matthew 1:21

And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.’

I know, as usual, I’m late, but come on! It’s only 361 days till Christmas, in a sense, I’m early… (New year’s Resolution: Time management\ STOP Procrastinating, TENI!). MERRY CHRISTMAS GUYS <3, whilst the air is still filled with the sweet smell of cinnamon I’d like to share a little something with you.

Dear Reader,

Have you ever stopped to wonder why people seem so happy during the Christmas season? The birth of Jesus Christ is the only celebration recognized and celebrated by thousands of people regardless of their beliefs. I have a friend who every year claims she’s a Scrooge; but without fail, shortly after this conversation my phone is flooded with LOTS and I mean LOTS of selfies in her “favorite” Christmas jumper.

The truth is believer or not our soul rejoices at the arrival of our saviour. Unfortunately A vast majority of people are unaware of the real reason of the season.

Let me start by saying two things before we get to the main thing. I’m not in any way saying; oh, don’t put up a Christmas tree, stuff your face with lots of food or exchange gifts or ANYTHING like that. NO, I love my gifts and I love my food, so no, I am not saying don’t celebrate!

Neither is this directed specifically to non believers only. Infact, I think more Christians are blinded by the façade that has developed over the years about Christmas. As Christians, we can get so consumed by the tinsels, the lights, the movies (polar express!), consumerism, presents, turkey, you name it, and in the end we completely forget the truth and the real reason we are celebrating.

This Christmas is the first of my Journey as a born again Christian. The past 18 years of my life Christmas has been about gifts chocolate and singing Christmas carols. This year, before Christmas I wanted to know more about the birth and the promise of Christ. Reading about the birth and the Promise really changed my whole perspective. In fact, this year everything about Christmas was so different rather than Christmas carols I found myself singing There Is A Redeemer throughout (have a listen)

Jefferson Bethke posted this beautiful piece of art on his instagram page stating JESUS WINS. The picture depicts a pregnant Mary comforting Eve.

Let’s go back a little…

Genesis 3:15

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

This was a promise, this first few chapters of the Bible reveals so much! IT REVEALS SO MUCH OF GOD’S GRACE AND HIS MERCY AND HIS UNENDING LOVE FOR US.

I’m sure we are all familiar with the story. But this is basically after Adam and Eve had just been tempted and have eaten from the tree God ordered them not too and the corruption of sin comes into man. There’s plenty to look into in this story, for now let’s not focus on the temptation of the devil let’s focus on God’s reaction after man fell into sin.

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Think about it Adam and Eve just SINNED! They did the one thing that God specifically asked them not too.

But God in his Love and his mercy immediately fixes the situation!

Have you ever been offended and needed sometime to cool off before you speak, forgive or even offer help to the person that offended you? Yea

But In the midst of mans rebellion GOD fixes EVERYTHING with a beautiful promise, like a loving father he punishes but BEFORE He makes sure that His children had a way out of an extremely dangerous situation.

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

He paved a way

Matthew 1:23

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

The impossible …Through Immanuel the incarnation of GOD, Jesus Christ, we are saved from the sting of sin.

Matthew 1:21

And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

THIS! This guys is the reason to be happy!

As Jefferson Bethke said Jesus Wins—OUR GOD WINS FOREVER AND ALWAYS. This is how to respond to the Birth of Christ! PRAISE GOD!. Celebrate, have your gifts, your tinsel, your fairy liquid on the tree (its been done) whatever! But don’t forget why you’re celebrating, who you’re celebrating! Don’t just say thank you to all the gifts your aunts friends mother gave you… remember the  Greatest Gift of all – IMMANUEL, GOD WITH US…

As we go into the New Year remember ….The greatest gift, let’s not fall into an ignorant ungratefulness, say Thank you – Remember him.

“And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace, goodwill toward men!”

Merry Christmas 🙂
